ARTIST'S STATEMENT: "I am happiest when painting en plein air, literally, in the open air, where I can hone my skills in observation, fitting all the pieces of the scene together. It is the realization of my love for our beautiful earth and it is the challenge of completing a painting before the light changes. The interplay of colors and light in nature are like a grand symphony with its constantly changing textures and tempos, varying dynamics and interactions of instruments. As a professional musician, I identify my painting with music. Through my art and through my music, I can now be more closely involved in the scene that I am painting. I am very grateful for this time in my life."
